Visualize, Prioritize, Capitalize



Positive self talk is generally not a topic in automobile sales training. At least not yet. Automobile sales professionals recognize the importance positive affirmations have to move from poor to good, from mediocre to above average, from great to exceptional.

In early 1900, Dr. William James said "The most important discovery of our time is the realization that we can alter our lives by altering our attitudes." Amazing, isn't it, that a person can change her life by changing how she sees herself.

Jim Rohn wrote, "...for things to change for you, you have got to change." Translation, you cannot sit on your butt and wait for someone else to change you. Only you can change you. That is, if you want to. Change requires action and the essence of motivation techniques - ambition. Want to increase your energy and productivity? Want to feel better about you, your achievements? Want to increase your self-esteem? Want to break through self imposed barriers, invisible fences that harness your life? Take action.

For affirmations to be effective, they must be followed through with action. Positive self talk, positive affirmations, can be as basic as repeating "I like myself. I like myself." But unless you speak them with enthusiasm, with conviction, with vibrancy, there will be little change.

You can change your attitude by altering the negative behaviors that are bringing you down, draining your self-confidence. To do so requires you to take action.
